The CAP Centre – Stage Lighting Installation
The CAP Centre is a community centre located in Smethwick and contacted ALG to install a new lighting system in the main function room, where the room can be used for performances and amateur theatre groups.
Installation of conventional theatre fixtures rigged to three pre-wired aluminium 6 socket lighting bars with Anytronics dimmer packs, with the option to use a 48 channel lighting desk or an infer-red hand remote control with 52 preset programs. This made the system very versatile without the need to set up the lighting desk for small shows and conferences having control of the fixtures using the remote control.
The installation required the fitting of a new dimmer packs connected to a new mains supply from the mains distribution board, a DMX input socket located in the hall to connect the lighting desk.
ALG also provided the modular staging platforms complete with valance and steps.
With the new system installed the centre are now able to create lighting scenes for there performances using colour filters and gobo effects, mixing scenes using the A-B presets from the lighting desk including the saving of scences and chases.
